About David

Since I am asking for your vote and your trust I'd like to tell you a bit about myself.

I have lived in the greater Cincinnati area my entire life.  I was a student at CPS schools for the majority of my elementary school education and graduated from Walnut Hills High School.  This was followed up with a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Cincinnati.

I've worked for a number of local, national and international companies.  Over the course of my career I have worked in environments where money was no issue in developing solutions and have worked in other environments where every dollar mattered because of either tight margins or shrinking markets.  In all of these roles I build many valuable skills such as how to effectively listen to people, understand the issues they face and work with them to develop the best solutions possible using the available resources. Sometimes it’s building a new computer system. Sometimes it's altering the way people do things to make them more successful. This the kind problem solving is relevant everywhere: home, work, and school.

When my wife, Gina, and I bought a house and started our family, we chose to live in the city because we believe in Cincinnati Public Schools.  Our four wonderful children attend CPS schools and our oldest will be attending Walnut Hills High School in the fall.

I am running for a position on the Board of Education because I believe in the criticality of a public education system.  There are many great things happening in our schools but we still have problems that are not being effectively addressed and we have new problems coming.

We face many challenges, and we can solve them if we have the will to do so.  I see a future with a vibrant school environment with a chance for all of our children to thrive.  A future where we give attention to our neighborhood schools as well as our magnet programs.  A future where no one feels they will get a better education by using a voucher and they stay part of the Cincinnati Public Schools family.  A future where our schools are a model that other cities want to emulate.
Together we can succeed.  In November, I hope I can count on your vote.
